Frühjahrsakademie

Start your doctorate right

Is a doctorate the right thing for me? And if so, how do I get started and how do I organize my "project doctorate"? Our Frühjahrsakademie will help you to answer these questions and prepare for the exciting time of doctoral studies.

What does the Frühjahrsakademie offer?

If you are interested in pursuing a doctorate after graduation or have recently started your doctoral project, the three-day Frühjahrsakademie will provide you with valuable support: experts from the graduate institutions of the UA Ruhr universities and experienced trainers will help you find your bearings and make informed decisions.

The first day focuses on formal and organizational topics related to doctoral research. You will learn, for example, how doctoral studies usually work and what financing options are common. On the second and third day, you can train various key skills for a successful start into your doctorate: from self and time management to good scientific practice.

Exchange of experience and networking is an important part of the entire program. Both during the breaks and during the workshops, you will therefore have many opportunities to get in touch with other early career researchers of the University Alliance Ruhr.

Who can participate?

Advanced Master's students interested in a doctorate at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, TU Dortmund University and/or the University of Duisburg-Essen as well as early doctoral researchers of all subject fields of the UA Ruhr universities. The Frühjahrsakademie is also open to doctoral researchers of the Rhine-Waal and the Ruhr-West Universities of Applied Sciences.

The language of Frühjahrsakademie is German.
