connecting.ruhr invites postdocs from the UA Ruhr and doctoral researchers in the final stages of their studies and to exchange ideas with company representatives from the Junge Initiativkreis Ruhr. The focus is on matching your skills with the requirements of companies in the region. A tailored and subject-specific program for female postdoctoral researchers in the humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering starts every two years.

In the scope of a pilot project 2025, Research Academy Ruhr awarded Mobility Grants to postdocs from the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr). The grants provided funding of up to €6,000 per person for four to twelve-week stays abroad.
Inspired by Postdoc Appreciation Week in the US and the UK, the PAW Germany coordination team annually invites scientists and research institutions, postdoc coordinators, and science managers throughout Germany to work together to create a special program to honor the incredible work of postdocs! The recent nationwide program is available here.
As part of PAW 2025, additional events were also offered under the umbrella of the Research Academy, which were also open to postdocs outside the UA Ruhr. Information on the corresponding offers can be found on LinkedIn.
The individual graduate institutions of the three UA Ruhr universities offer a versatile workshop and event program for their early career researchers on-site beyond the joint offers on RAR level.

Research Academy Ruhr (RAR) is the cross-university platform of Ruhr-Universität Bochum, TU Dortmund University, and the University of Duisburg-Essen for promoting early career researchers in the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr).
