UA Ruhr Mobility Grants for Postdocs

 

Research Academy is awarding Mobility Grants to postdocs from the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr). The grants provide funding of up to €6,000 per person for four to twelve-week stays abroad.

Grantees are presented with the opportunity to acquire international experience, establish and expand international research networks, and initiate or advance independent research projects in collaboration with international partners. The applicant is responsible for organizing these visits, which must take place in 2026.

Funding

The funding covers travel and accommodation costs in accordance with the State Travel Expenses Act of North Rhine-Westphalia. Further costs will not be covered. The prospect of co-financing by university chairs or similar entities is technically possible. 

Requirements

Postdoctoral researchers from all academic disciplines who have an employment contract with one of the UA Ruhr universities or are affiliated with one of these through a scholarship program are eligible to apply for funding.

Assessment

Evaluation criteria are the general comprehensibility of the application, plausibility of the planning, icluding the work and financial plan, as well as the relevance and added value of the stay abroad for the academic career and research. The assessment will be carried out by the ECR Board of the UA Ruhr. Funding decisions are expected to be made at the end of April.

  • Informal letter of invitation from an international host
  • Tabular work plan
  • Tabular financial plan with detailed information on all costs incurred, including those exceeding the maximum funding amount
