In the scope of a pilot project, Research Academy Ruhr is awarding Mobility Grants to postdocs from the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr). The grants provide funding of up to €6,000 per person for four to twelve-week stays abroad.
Grantees are presented with the opportunity to acquire international experience, establish and expand international research networks, and initiate or advance independent research projects in collaboration with international partners. The applicant is responsible for organizing these visits, which must take place in 2025.
The funding covers travel and accommodation costs in accordance with the State Travel Expenses Act of North Rhine-Westphalia. Further costs will not be covered. The prospect of co-financing by university chairs or similar entities is technically possible. Funding is distributed equally among the three universities of the UA Ruhr.
Postdoctoral researchers from all academic disciplines who have been granted an employment contract within the UA Ruhr or are currently engaged in research activities through a scholarship program are eligible to apply for funding.
In addition to the applicant's academic profile, particular emphasis is placed on the relevance and added value of the stay abroad for the academic career and research. The plausibility of the planning is also considered. The ECR Board of the UA Ruhr is responsible for the assessment and funding decision. Decisions are expected to be made at the conclusion of June.
The deadline for submitting applications is June 9, 2025.
