Doctoral supervisors need to establish clear and reliable working relationships, support high-quality and feasible doctoral projects and adapt their approach as researchers develop greater responsibility and independence. The workshop supports participants in developing a more reflective and adaptable approach to doctoral supervision. It examines how supervisors can clarify roles and expectations, support doctoral projects and research progress, adapt structure and support as researchers develop, and respond constructively to difficult supervisory situations within the relevant institutional framework.
