Description

This workshop centers on collaborative research funding programs, with a particular emphasis on DFG funding schemes. Participants will explore how to establish effective collaborations and consortia for their research, including interdisciplinary and cross-institutional partnerships, and leverage collaborative research funding to advance their research. The workshop will address both initiating collaborative research funding programs and being a project leader:

  • DFG Collaborative Research Centres (SFBs), Research Units (Forschungsgruppen), and Priority Programs (Schwerpunktprogramme)
  • Building consortia and interdisciplinary collaborations
  • Advancing own research through collaborative research funding programs
  • Interactive session: group work on a mock CRC concept

The workshop is supported by an asynchronous digital learning platform, accessible to all participants for at least six months. The platform provides:

  • Resources: proposal templates, checklists, funding overviews, video inputs, and peer forums
  • Micro-learning modules: “How to write a strong abstract,” “DFG evaluation criteria,” “ERC panel expectations,” etc.
  • Self-reflection exercises: “My scientific independence plan (SIP),” “My strategic funding map”
