The aim of this workshop is to help you understand the German academic system and to show you different job profiles for postdocs within German academia. What are the formal rules and frameworks of an academic career in Germany after the PhD? What kind of permanent positions does German academia offer, what are the conditions and differences?

This short workshop offers some impulses that might help you decide whether a permanent position in German academia is the right path for you. Also, it will shed light on subsequent questions, such as: What qualifications do I have to bring to the table for a German professorship (at a university of applied sciences)? What does the process of applying for professorships look like in Germany?
