Description

As a research group leader you act in various roles and manage manifold responsibilities that come with holding a leadership position in science (acquisition of third party funding, leading an organizational unit, contributing to the academic self-administration, etc). To still retain the freedom to pursue one’s own research, it is vitally important to make the most effective use of your staff resources, to focus and to prioritize.
In the workshop you will reflect upon your different tasks as an academic leader. The seminar provides you with useful tools e.g. the so-called management house for successfully managing your team (https://www.forschung-und-lehre.de/karriere/besseres-management-stiftet-zeit-6241 ).
Some theoretical approaches will be supplemented by sharing ‘best practices’ in various tasks. During the workshop you will have the opportunity to also discuss your individual questions about "leading in science".
