Description

The workshop aims to help scientists reflect on self-leadership while consciously shaping their contributions to a research organization. Additionally, it seeks to support the development of a sustainable and proactive academic career strategy.

Module 1: Self-Leadership - Leading yourself under permanent ambiguity 

The first part of the workshop will focus on:

  • Leading oneself under ambiguity & uncertainty
  • Self-leadership frameworks for complex responsibility portfolios
  • Personal operating systems: energy, attention, decision load 
  • Priority logic beyond urgency
  • Boundaries, delegation, and decision rules

Output: Personal Self-Leadership System
 

Module 2: Contribution - How do I want to shape my organisation 

The second part of the workshop will focus on: 

  • Organizational ecosystems
  • Organizational contribution beyond research
  • Strategic visibility and selective engagement 
  • Contribution vs. compliance
  • Contribution strategy and researcher identity

Output: Contribution Map and 12-month engagement plan


Trainer

Dr. ès sc. habil. Alexander Schiller was a DFG Heisenberg fellow and Junior Professor for inorganic chemistry at the University of Jena (Germany). Since 2016 he is a full-time trainer and certified coach.
