As a postdoc, you are responsible for supervising doctoral students and managing complex projects, yet you rarely have formal authority. At the same time, you are working to meet the expectations of your Principal Investigator. We will guide you through practical strategies to become effective in this role. Registration is open until 29 June.

This classic "sandwich position" requires a specific set of leadership skills:

• Leadership beyond hierarchy: Reflect on your role change with the help of sociological role theory.
• Lateral and upward leadership: Map the expectations placed on you and develop strategies for leadership in three directions – towards doctoral students, colleagues, and superiors.
• Communication & conflict dynamics: Master active listening, constructive feedback, status games, and conflict management tools.

The three half days allow you to test your insights in real-time between sessions.
