A doctoral degree can open up a wide range of career opportunities within academic research, but also beyond academia: At the virtual Wirtschaftskolleg on 15 November, Dr. Kai Oberste-Ufer from dormakaba and twelve other representatives from companies and public institutions will answer your questions about starting a career after the doctorate in business and society. Registrations are still possible until 10 November.

The upcoming Wirtschaftskolleg will start with an interdisciplinary kick-off speech. Subsequently, three parallel panels for the humanities and social sciences, life sciences and natural sciences, and engineering sciences will discuss more subject-specific questions regarding a career outside university. Employees of e.g. the IHK Mittleres Ruhrgebiet, Commerzbank, the start-up MEMBRASENZ, the Fritz-Hüser-Institute of the city of Dortmund as well as the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf will report on their experiences, challenges, and career-related decisions after the doctorate.

The event is aimed at doctoral and postdoctoral researchers of the UA Ruhr universities Bochum, Dortmund, and Duisburg-Essen. The Wirtschaftskolleg will take place online via Zoom. Please sign up here by 10 November.
