13.02.2023

Kkc 338

Conference on historical and cultural perspectives on the critique in/of psychology

The next conference of the Gesellschaft für Kulturpsychologie and the DGPs-Fachgruppe Geschichte der Psychologie will focus on the theme of "critique" and will primarily address the following questions:

  • What critical positions have been and are being advanced toward psychology as a whole and toward individual subdisciplines or research programs?
  • To what extent have not only external criticism but also internal objections influenced and shaped the discipline and its development?
  • How can the historical development of different forms of criticism within psychology be reconstructed, and what developmental tendencies can be identified in "critical" thinking, research, and psychological practice?

Applications can be made for:

  • Individual lectures (of max. 30 minutes)
  • Symposia (of 90 minutes total duration with three presentations of approx. 20 minutes each)

Individual presentations as well as symposia should allow 20 to 30 minutes of time for open discussion. Deadline for submission of abstracts is 30 April. The maximum length of an abstract for individual presentations is 2,500 characters; the maximum length for abstracts for symposia is 4,000 characters. The decision on acceptance or rejection of the submitted papers will be made by a jury established by the organizers. The decision will be communicated to the authors by the end of May 2023 at the latest.
