UA Ruhr Proposal Writing Grants

Research Academy is awarding Proposal Writing Grants to international postdoctoral researchers: Funding is provided for three-month stays at one of our University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr) universities with a scholarship of €1,500 per month. 
The travel grant is intended for the preparation of third-party funding applications for research projects in cooperation with researchers from the UA Ruhr. This gives international postdocs and their hosts at the UA Ruhr the opportunity to develop joint research projects for longer-term stays at the UA Ruhr and to get to know each other better.

Funding

The funding consists of a monthly scholarship of €1,500 (lump sum) for three consecutive months. Additional costs cannot be covered. Co-financing from other sources is possible.

Requirements

International postdocs from all academic disciplines who belong to a research institution outside Germany and who completed their doctorate no more than three years prior to the application date are eligible to apply.

The application must be submitted in collaboration with a host: A professor, junior professor, or junior research group leader from one of the UA Ruhr Universities (Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University, and the University of Duisburg-Essen).

Assessment

Applications must be of high quality, coherent and comprehensible. During the review process, particular emphasis will be placed on the plausibility of the work plan, the selection of the targeted funding line, the rationale for the selection of the host, and the host's commitment to the joint project.
The assessment will be carried out by the ECR Board of the UA Ruhr. Funding decisions are expected to be made at the end of April.

Applicants are responsible for finding a suitable host themselves. Travel and arrangements must be organized independently and the stays completed in 2026.
