Are you a doctoral researcher interested in expanding your international research network after submitting your doctoral thesis? Are you currently not working in Germany, but eager to explore the Ruhr Area in North Rhine-Westphalia in western Germany as one of Europe's leading education and research centers? Then join us for an information session on the Research Explorer Ruhr (RER) program, a fully funded opportunity that supports early international postdocs in spending two weeks in the Ruhr Area during the summer
Through RER, participants get in touch with a host professor at one of the three universities of the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr) – Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University, or the University of Duisburg-Essen – to explore potential research collaborations and develop joint project proposals.
In addition to networking opportunities and lab visits, the summer school includes professional workshops on writing competitive third-party funding proposals, helping you strengthen your grant writing skills and prepare for future international funding applications. Organized cultural activities and group excursions, that introduce you to the region, round off the program.
We are offering this info session as part of the first European Doc Day, which celebrates doctoral graduates and doctoral education. We will provide an overview of the program, including eligibility, application tips, travel funding, and what to expect during your stay. Don’t miss your chance to take the first step toward a future research stay in Germany!
The event will take place online. It is free of charge, but registration is required.
